As 2024 comes to a close, we at Mylands are thrilled to reflect upon the projects and collaborations that our colours have featured in throughout the year. As Britian's oldest family-owned paint manufacturer, we are proud to share our treasured heritage with creatives in and around London; shaping specific palettes for designers, galleries, and artists.
Dulwich Picture Gallery's "Rubens & Women" Exhibition
The exhibition, Rubens & Women held at the Dulwich Pictue Gallery, features an outstanding array of paintings and drawings from throughout the Flemish artist Rubens' career. Celebrating women and showcasing the varied and important placed occupied by them, both real and imagined, in his world. The exhibition walls feature a selection of colours from Mylands - Colours of London collection. Colours include Millbank™ No.254, Bond street™ No.219, Lock Keeper™ No.18, Mortlake Red™ No.290 - evoking a depth that compliments the artwork and interiors.
Dulwich Picture Gallery was founded in 1811. It is the world’s first purpose-built public art gallery. Mylands paints are made in Lambeth, South London and it was natural for us to support such an iconic venue, sharing our passion for colours, and located just around the corner from us.

Mayfair Sketch Restaurant Features Mylands Colours
As part of ‘Dreamscapes’, sketch’s Art & Design exhibition 2024, Mylands’ Film, Television and Theatre (FTT) Collection was chosen to decorate ‘Home of the Braves’ - an installation across the façade, reception and iconic pod bathroom by prominent artist and fashion designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac.
For this installation, commanding Mylands shades of red, blue and yellow including FTT-11™ CSO Green, FTT-18™ Ultramarine Blue, FTT-08™ Mid Chrome, FTT-09™ Bright Red, FTT-10™ Vermillion, FTT-19™ Ultra Violet, Pink House Pink and Enamel Blue™ No.78 are used across multi-coloured slogan flags, playful walls covered in vibrant shields, coats of arms and imaginary weapons to immerse visitors in the combative and heroic spirit of the suffragettes.

The National Portrait Gallery's "Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII's Queens" Exhibition
This exhibition is the first major exhibition to place its focus on the women who married the infamous Tudor king. Exploring agency, influence and cultural impact both in life and afterlife, the exhibition steps back in time, thus showcasing contemporary portraits, costumes and sixteenth century portraits. Mylands has a long-standing association with the National Portrait Gallery, established over its many years as the UK’s oldest paint brand founded and based in London. Therefore, Mylands was asked to developed a colour scheme that compliments the portraits, evoking a sense of time and or place, creating a mermorable experiecen for the visitor.

Inspired by Nature, the Jinny Bloom x Mylands Collection
The Mylands x Jinny Blom collection features 12 tones, inspired by Jinny’s own experience of the outdoors, her special bond with nature and her unique talent to landscape gardens with a natural feel. Her London based landscape design practice launched in 2000 and she has since curated gardens and large estates all over the world, having designed several Chelsea Flower Show Gardens, winning Gold in 2007. This collection of colours are typically drawn from the land and the local materiality. In a city there is a lot of freedom yet in the wider countryside, wherever on earth it might be, it is definitely driven by the tonality of he landscape and the weather.

Sara Mungeam (@houseobsessed)'s Modern South London House
This year Mylands was invited into Sara Mungeam's South London home to learn more about her design decision making process, love for property development and the Mylands colours featured throughout her home. Her 'natural' and 'earthy' colour palette, conveys her sleek, modernistic style; adding a real richness to the interior spaces. As such, her space is minimalist and clean but submerged with texture, creating soft finishes with reperitive design elements that evoke flow and serenity.
Her modern design choices for house interiors feature Mylands colours of Messel™ No.39, Soho Pink™ No.266, Brompton Road™ No.205 and Chalk Farm™ No.53.

The De Gournay New York City Showroom
Mylands is delighted to have collaborated with de Gournay, the internationally acclaimed purveyor of exquisite hand-painted wallpapers and fabrics for the grand reopening of its New York City showroom. Situated in the heart of New York City’s storied design district, the newly reimagined showroom exemplifies de Gournay’s dedication to exceptional artistry and craftsmanship. Mylands worked closely with de Gournay's design team, creating a delightful colour palette to complement the very finest hand-painted wallpapers and hand-embroidered fabrics.
The colours chosen comprise of hues from Mylands' iconic Colours of London collection and Archive collection; featuring Rothschild Street™ No.297, Peach Flesh Pink™ No.268 and Wallbrook™ No.142
